BIG SUR Officers search park after tip about body Man may have been slain and buried at Andrew Molera official says By Kelly Nix The Californian Several police agencies are investigating a 'report that a man was killed two years ago and buried in the Big Sur area. A tip to the Paso Robles Police Department indicated indicated a man was killed after a night of partying and that his body was buried at a firing firing range at Andrew Molera State Park. The park is about 25 miles south of Monterey off Highway 1. "It sounded like some partying partying and some drugs and speed that was part of this," said Dave Schaechtele, spokesman for Monterey District California State Parks. "And to me, it sounded sounded like the eyewitness'' boyfriend shot this other male, and maybe there was an argument." Officials from Paso Robles police, the Monterey County County Sheriffs Office and the Monterey County District Attorney's Office went to the park Wednesday to see if they could find a body. "Right now, state park rangers are looking at patrol logs and other things that go back two years .ago," Schaechtele said. "Exhumation "Exhumation will begin at any time." If the story is true, the killer would have had to cut a padlock from the gate to the park, he said. Paso Robles police Sgt. Robert Burton said police officers went to the state park and were helping dig up the area where the body is supposed to have been buried. "I know that they are doing an investigation on this missing person," Burton Burton said. "Some of our units are in that area."
