a I Dorothy V. Havens Voorting Dorothy V. Havens Voorting Dorothy V. Havens Voorting, 98, of Salinas, died Friday, Dec. 3, at saunas Valley Memorial Hos pital after brief illness. She was born June 6, 1905, in San Jacinto. She was a cook for Valley Knotty Pine Restaurant in Imperial Valley and the Cameo Buffet. She enjoyed playing the organ, reading, painting ceramics and going to the Baptist church. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Ray Havens, in 1967, and William Voorting, in 1990"; and sons, Gordon P. Havens, in 1995, and John P. Havens, in 2002. Survivors: Daughters, Rosemary (Joe) Avita of Salinas and Helen Christine Weaver of San Diego; sons, Lee (Betty) Havens of El Centro, Richard (Natasha) Havens of Springfield, Mo., and Douglas (Linda) Havens of Chula Vista; daughter-in-law, Vivian Havens of Caliente, Nev.; sister, Olive (Tootie) Caldwell of Boulder City, Nev.; 24 grandchildren, 47 greatgrandchildren and seven great-great- grandchildren. Visitation: 7 to 9 p.m. today, Dec. 11, at Hems Brothers Funeral Home, 1975 S. Fourth St., El Centro. Graveside services: 9 a.m. Friday, Dec. 12, at Evergreen Cemetery, 20 E. Gillette Road, El Centro. Memorials: Donor's favorite church or the 700 Club. Arrangements: Whitehurst Muller Funeral Service, East Alisal and Pajaro streets, Salinas.
