The Salinas Californian 4A Weekend, April 16 -April 17, 2016 thecalifornian.com Edwin Russell Mosher July 3, 1942 April 10, 2016 SALINAS Edwin Russell Mosher, 73, lifelong resident of Salinas, passed away Sunday, April 10, 2016, in Salinas. He was born July 3, 1942, in San Francisco. Edwin was a member of the Elk's Lodge of Salinas, Optimist International of Monterey Peninsula and of Compass Church, formerly known as First Presbyterian Church in Salinas. Edwin's hobbies included attending 4x4 Truck Pull and Monster Truck events. Edwin is survived by his devoted brother, Lawrence D.

Mosher of Salinas, and beloved Godchildren, Travis, Troy, Ashley and Taylor Landess, all of Salinas. Visitation will be held from 1 to 9 p.m. Sunday, April 17, 2016, at Healey Mortuary, 405 N. Sanborn Salinas, CA 93905. Funeral services are to take place at 10 a.m.

Schneider (Badella), 93, of Salinas, went to her heavenly home on Friday, April 8, 2016. She i was born May 3, 1922. Charles Buddy Espinoza May IS, 1931 -Feb. 2, 2016 HUNTERSVILLE, NC On February 2, 2016, Charles Buddy Espinoza, of Huntersville, NC, went home to be with the Lord.

I Charles was born May 15, 1931, to Pearl Francis and Larry Espinoza, in Henryetta, OK. I Charles spent his 84 years building a life full of love and happiness, his family always coming first. He spent 25 years with his company, Espinoza Masonry, building all across the county. His memorial will be with Celebration Church, formerly known as Oak Park Community Church, of which he was a founding member. He is survived by his wife, Lois; children, Lorafay (Ernie), Sophie (Thomas), Sheila, Tony (Lee), and Larry; nine grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and four sisters.

A Memorial will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Saturday, April 23, 2016, at Celebration Church, 10 Simas Salinas. Besides teaching, Bernice faithfully joined her parents weekends and summers, selling flowers and produce at the Farmers' Free Market, which closed in 1986. Bernice spent her life putting others first.

We love you, Mom. You will be missed. Bernice was predeceased by her parents, George and Rosie Badella; her husband, Johnnie Schneider; her stepson, John, and her sister, Mary Sanahara. She is survived by her sons, Tom and Tim Schneider; her brother, Bill Badella; her stepson, Jim Schneider, and step-daughter, Mary Schneider. Rosary at 10:30 a.m.

HEALEY MORTUARY Virginia Ortiz Flores July 12, 2016 GONZALES Virginia Ortiz Flores, loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, grandmother and friend, was called to heaven Tuesday, April 12, 2016, with family by her side. Virgie was born July 19,1966 in Salinas, to Reynaldo and late Marilyn Ortiz.

We were blessed to have such a loving person as Virgie who welcomed everyone with open arms, and made you feel at home with her amazing meals and generosity. Virgie dedicated her life to the Lord and served the Lord, she will be missed by many. Virgie was survived by her loving husband of 28 years, Jose A. Flores; four children, Raymond, Robert (Amanda), Brenda and Richard; two grandchildren, Robert Jr. and Raymond Jr.

Also surviving stepchildren, Rachel, Letty, Maria, Pepe and Monique; surviving siblings, Melvin (Linda), Angie, Gloria, and Mickie (Tony), including loving extended family. Sanborn Salinas, CA 93905. Laurence Wollesen "Bud" Frudden Sept. 19, 1928 March 25, 2016 JACKSON Laurence Wollesen "Bud" Frudden, 87, of Jackson, passed away Friday, March 25, 2016. He was born Sept. 19, 1928 in Hames Valley, to Peter "Hi" and Marie Frudden.

nsS He was preceded in death by his mother and father, as well as his oldest sister, Laura; his two older brothers, Harold and Maynard; his grandson, Jonathon, and his son-in-law, Mitchell Pedersen He is survived by his loving wife, Leslie. He leaves behind his sons, Peter (Susan), Jim Porter (Tammy), and David Porter (Lori); daughters, Nancy Pedersen, Mary Nuki, and Anne Spencer (Jerry), and his sister, Grace Crow (Jim). Missing Grandpa Bud are his 14 grandchildren. Alicia, Dustin, Nicolas, Trisha, Sam, Molly, Katherine, Laurel, Elizabeth, Ashley, James, Audrey, Charlotte, and Joe. Additional survivors include five5 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Memorial service is planned at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 20, 2016, at St. Mark's Episcopal Church, corner of Third and Bassett Streets, King City, followed by a reception at the The Pavilion Building on the Salinas Valley Fairgrounds. Box 942, King City, CA 93930. Atsushi Shido Sept. 8, 1930 -April 3, 2016 SALINAS Atsushi Shido, of Salinas, passed away on April 3, 2016, at the age of 85. He was born Sept. 8, 1930 in Kagoshima, Japan, to Nosuke and Asa Shido.

He came to the United States in 1955 and worked at the Martin Agricultural Camp in Visalia for three years and moved to San Diego and started his gardening service. He later moved to Salinas in the late 60's and began working in the cut flower business. In 1969, he started Shido Greenhouse and enjoyed his love of growing flowers. During his life, he enjoyed family, fishing, and bonsai. He was a member of the Nansatsu Doshikai Group and the Buddhist Temple of Salinas.

The family would like to thank the staff at Brookdale Salinas for the care he received during his final years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruri Shido. He is survived by his son, Richard Shido (Kazumi) of Salinas; daughter, Mari Shido of San Jose; grandson, Jeffrey of Salinas; brother, Ryokichi, and sister, Sumi, both of Japan. Memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, April 23, 2016, at the Buddhist Temple of Salinas, 14 California Salinas, CA 93901.

Harvey was born Nov. 23, 1946, the first born son of Robert and Dorothy Misner in Carson City, NV. He grew up in Carpentaria. Upon high school graduation, he joined Betty Sue Buche May 26, 1948 April 11, 2016 SALINAS Betty Sue Buche passed away peacefully at the age of 67 surrounded by family and loved ones on April 11, 2016. The beautiful Betty Sue Buche was born May 26, 1948 at Fort Benning, Georgia, to Graham Clifton Merritt and Peggy Faye Merritt.

Her father served in the US Army and she was fortunate enough to live in many places around the world. In 1965, Betty moved to Salinas with her family and attended Salinas High School. She was a beloved preschool teacher for more than 24 years at Melody Park Christian School and First Presbyterian Preschool. Betty was loved by all who met her but especially her students and their families. Betty and Dale Buche were married in 1987.

They loved spending time with their children and many friends. They enjoyed travelling to many foreign destinations and spending quiet time together at their lake house. Those who knew Betty will miss her infectious smile, sense of humor and her strong and independent spirit. She was preceded in death by her parents, Graham and Peggy Merritt; first husband, John Dwight Stafford, and sister, Elizabeth Ann Vestal. She is survived by her husband, Dale K.

Buche, M.D.; daughter, Shannon Sue Stafford; son, Adam Jon Stafford (Kathie); stepsons, Brock (Phyllis), Brent, Kurt (Elizabeth), Kier; step-daughter, Kirsten; brother, Graham Danny Merritt, and sister, Norma Dunham. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, Matthew, Joseph, Jennifer, Gary, Melissa, Brittani, Nikki, Morgan, Kailyr, Lelia, Kylie, Kristine, Michelle and Kassie. Visitation will be held from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, April 21, 2016, at Struve and Laporte Chapel, 41 West San Luis Salinas, CA 93901. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m.

Friday, April 22, 2016, at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 1071 Pajaro Salinas, CA. This service will be followed by internment at Garden of Memories Cemetery, 850 Abbott Salinas, CA 93901. A reception will be held for family and friends at 3:00 p.m., at St. Paul's Episcopal Church.

Madsen, 72, of Salinas, passed away Friday, April 8, 2016, at home surrounded by his beloved and caring family. Mike was born July 15, 1943 in San Luis Obispo and grew up in Arroyo Grande then later moved to Salinas raising his family and residing there for the past 47 years.

Mike retired from the State of California after 38 years with CalTrans running the sign department out of the Salinas yard. Mike was an avid hunter, fisherman, golfer. Mike enjoyed traveling, playing cards, watching baseball (San Francisco Giants) football (49er's), having barbecues with friends and family and enjoying time with his granddaughters, his pride and joy. Mike was preceded in death by his father, Donald; mother, Clara, and brother, Jon. Mike is survived by his high school sweetheart and loving wife of 51 years, Judy (Jute); his son, Todd (Katrina) Madsen; his daughter, Deanna (Craig) Bray; his granddaughters, Haley Madsen and Taylor Bray; his two black labs, Bella and Mia; his brother, Stephen (Denise), and numerous brotherssisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, cousins, and loving friends.

The family would also like to thank Dr. Varma, her staff, the nurse's on the forth floor tower at SVMH, and VNA for the care given to our beloved husband, dad, papa. Mike was a member of Ducks Unlimited, National Rifle Association, Sons in Retirement (SIR). Visitation will be from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 16, 2016 at Struve and Laporte Chapel, 41 W.

Harvey came to San Luis Obispo to attend college but soon went to work for the U.S. Forest Service as a firefighter then Fort Ord as a fire inspector. He also worked for FMC Corporation, Monterey Mushrooms and Don Chapin Company as a safety manager director. Harvey belonged to the Veterans of Foreign Wars as well as the American Legion. Harvey is survived by his wife of 44 years, Donna; son, Jason (Mandy) Misner of Corvallis, OR; son, Robbie (Trisha) Misner of Salinas; three granddaughters, Ireland, Alyson and Chelsey; brother, Scott Misner of Grover Beach.

He loved to BBQ, work in his yard and talk to all his friends and acquaintances as often as possible. We will all miss him more than can possibly be expressed. The family of Harvey W. Misner II have chosen to forego a traditional memorial service following the loss of our loved one. The family appreciates all the messages of condolence from our friends and acquaintances.

He will be greatly missed by all of us. In lieu of this decision, the family asks that donations be made to the American Heart Association, 1 Almaden No. 500, San Jose, CA. 95113, or the American Cancer Society, 945 S. Main No.
