Carla Isberg, 86, of Carmel, passed away Jan. 30, 2017. She was born March 7, 1930. Carla grew up with her brothers, Charles, Paul and Patrick.

Carla married Charles Isberg in 1950. They had four children, John, Janet, Peter, and Stephen. Carla had four grandchildren, David and Shannon (Janet and Del Monte Walters), Matthew and Mark (Pam and John), and three great-grandchildren, Inde, Audrey, and Little Del. Peter married Madeline Hadley in 2013. Carla was a housewife until 1970 when she earned her A.B.

degree. She spent about 20 years as a social worker, earning her MSW from SJSU in 1980. In 1977, her husband Charles died at 52. She began two passions, singing at the Mission Ranch piano bar, and becoming a life master in duplicate bridge. A Celebration of life will be held from 2 to 3 p.m.

Sunday, March 12, 2017, at First Presbyterian Church, 501 El Dorado Monterey. Guests are invited to townhouse after that. Carla Isberg March 7, 1930 Jan. 30, 2017 CARMEL Larry Joseph Rolandi, 63, formerly of Salinas, passed away Wednesday, March 1, 2017, in Modesto. He was born April 24, 1953, in Salinas.

Larry grew up in Greenfield, where he attended the local schools and graduated from King City High School. A carpenter by trade, Larry was known throughout the valley for his workmanship and great expertise. He was preceded by death by his father, Harold Rolandi, and step-father, Tony Vierra. Larry is survived by his wife, Vicki Rolandi; son, Vincent Rolandi, and daughter, Rochelle Rolandi, all of Jamestown. He is also survived by his mother, Martha Vierra of Greenfield; brothers, Tommy Rolandi of Greenfield, and David (Gloria) Rolandi of Hartville, MI; sister, Jeanette (George) Nitzschke of Greenfield; sister-in-law, Beverly (Jerry) Gattis of Jamestown, and many loving cousins and friends.

Vargas, 45, passed away with his family at his side Thursday, March 2, 2017, at Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital. Joel was born Aug. 7, 1971 in Mexico and has lived in Salinas for the past 25 years. Joel worked as a chemical applicator in Salinas Valley Agriculture for more than 20 years. Joel is survived by his loving wife, Susana: a daughter, Nayeli Vargas; his sons, Christian, Noah, and Joel Vargas Jr.

He is also survived by his parents, Beremundo and Ampelia Cardenas, along with his sister, Ana Lopez, and a brother, Abimael Vargas. Visitation will be held from 1 to 9 p.m. Thursday, March 9, 2017, at the Healey Mortuary Chapel, 405 N. Sanborn Salinas, CA 93905. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m.

He moved to Salinas in 1998 to be near his family. Saw attended Gonzales schools. He spent more than 50 years as a part of the farming community in the Salinas Valley. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, sports, rodeos, but most of all, spending time with his family and friends. He served in the U.S.

Army as a Staff Sergeant in the Anti-Aircraft Artillery Gun Battalion during World War II (1941-1945). He was stationed throughout Europe during World War II and fought in the Battle of the Bulge. Saw was a member of the Monterey County Swiss Rifle Club, Swiss American Club and St. Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by wife of 70 years, Angelina Breschini; parents, Bernardino and Oliva Breschini; brothers, Oliver Breschini, Elmer (Piash) Breschini, and Albert (Moko) Breschini; and sisters, Rosaline Headley and Ruth (Cookie) Rivera.

He is survived by three children, Les (Rochelle) Breschini of Salinas, Linda Stockwell of Clovis and Alice (Mike) Hitchcock of Salinasl six grandchildren, Shane Breschini, Ann Marie (Zach) Punnett, Tara (Michael Flynn) Stockwell, Brianne Stockwell, Jason Hitchcock, Kate Hitchcock; seven great- grandchildren, Tyler Stockwell, Dailyn Breschini, Olivia Rose Punnett, Hailey Ray Flynn, Noah William Punnett, Brenin James Flynn, Henry Wayne Punnett; brother, Wes Breschini of Fresno; sister, Jane Pisoni of Gonzales, and numerous nephews and nieces. The family gratefully acknowledges the loving care of his devoted caregivers, Kikue and Juana. They send a special thank you to Dr. Yoneda for his many years of compassionate care. Visitation will be held from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m.

He was born July 17, 1945, in Watsonville. Gary was a resident. He was a Veteran serving his country proudly through the United States Army. He retired as a Loss Control Manager at Monterey Education Risk Management Authority (MERMA) after many years of dedication and hard work. He was an avid tennis player and loved an intriguing game of chess with his grandchildren.

He was active as he would go to the gym daily. He had a wonderful sense of humor, dry yet sarcastic. He loved his grandchildren and his puppies more than words can say. He will be remembered as a most loving husband, wonderful father and amazing grandfather. He will be deeply missed.

Gary leaves behind his adored wife of 51 years, Patricia Metzler of Manteca; his daughter. Laura Metzler and partner. John Ortiz of his grandchildren, Joseph Steven Metzler, Mikel Greggary Gibbs, Kendra Lynn Metzler and Joshua Ryan Gibbs.
