Services: Cremation under the direction of Healey Crematory, 405 N. Sanborn Road, Salinas. SANTA BARBARA Thomas Otsuki Thomas Otsuki, 80, of Santa Barbara, died Tuesday, March 8, 2005. Arrangements are under the direction of McDermott Crockett Mortuary, Santa Barbara. SALINAS March 8, 2005, at his home. He was the beloved husband of 30 years to the late Lucille Brockman. Loving father of John W. Brockman and Phillip Brock- John R.

Brockman John R. Brockman, 84, of Salinas, passed away peacefully Tuesday, John R. Brockman man and his wife Maheen Enferadi. Dearest grandfather to Kevin Brockman and Cameron Brockman. John was born Oct.

2, 1920, in Glens Fork, and a resident of Salinas for 36 years. A man of recognized integrity, he was a retired Air Force master sergeant, serving his country for 27 years, and a veteran of World War II and the Korean War. After retiring from the Air Force, John attended Hartnell College, where he received several Associate of Arts degrees. Collecting and reading books was one of his many loves in life. Becoming a real estate broker in the late 1970s, he stayed busy in the industry for the next decade.

He always was active in the Lions Club, square dancing and the Salvation Army. Visitation: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, March 12, at Struve and Laporte Funeral Chapel, 41 W. San Luis Salinas.

SALINAS Mildred Mildred of Salinas, Mildred 'Millie' Baughn 'Millie' Baughn "Millie" Baughn, 81, passed away peacefully Saturday, Feb. 26, 2005, at Katherine Hospital in Salinas.

She was born May 16, 1923, in La Habra. She met Herb Baughn in McAllen, Texas. She moved to Monterey Peninsula in the 1950s, where she raised her family. She loved traveling the world and spent the better part of the 1980s traveling to Germany, Egypt, France and Italy. Millie loved golf and was a charter member of Corral de life, Tierra she Country became Club.

Later and in a nurse cared for her elderly patients who needed personalized care. She was preceded in death by Dr. Herbert A. Baughn. Survivors: Her sons, Dr.

W. Thomas Baughn of Salinas and Dr. Brent Baughn of Texas; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Services: At Millie's request, no services will be held. TIGARD, ORE.

Martha Viola Chilcoat Martha Viola Chilcoat of Tigard, died of complications of pneumonia Sunday, March 6, 2005, in Panama while on vacation with her family. She was born April 12, 1919, in Custer City, and was a longtime Salinas resident before moving to Tigard in 2003. She was a former member of Valley Baptist Church in Salinas. She was preceded in death by Robert Chilcoat in 1999. She was a retired office manager with Coastal Ford Tractor Co. for 25 years. She enjoyed playing bingo and gardening and adored spending time with her grandchildren. She was a 1951 graduate of Salinas High School. Memberships: Buena Vista Garden Club.

He was born in. Lowell, on Jan. 5, 1935, and had lived in Castroville since 1973. Clyde took great pleasure in his family, friends and his pets, especially Bear, his Doberman. Clyde graduated from the Naval Postgraduate School in 1965 after voluntarily enlisting in the Aviation Cadet Program in 1955.

He was assigned to patrol squadron NINETEEN in Alameda. His first squadron deployment was to Japan and Alaska, including flight over the North Pole. In 1961, he reported to Corpus Christi, Texas, as an instructor in training Squadron 31. From 1963 to 1965 he attended NPS in Monterey where he obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in 1965. He then went to Whidbey Island, on a second tour of Anti-Submarine War forces.

During the next two years he saw action in East Asia and was re-deployed to Alaska for a third time. In 1968, he arrived at the geographical nadir of his career was deployed with the South Antarctic Deployment Squadron SIX from Quonset Point, the home of VXE-6. He transferred in 1970 to San Diego, home of fleet composite Squadron THREE where he assisted in the deployment of the Navy's first C-130 Hercules Aircraft configured to launch pilotless targets for gunnery exercises. In June 1972 he was assigned to VR-21 NAS, Barbers Point, Hawaii, for duty in Pacific Fleet Logistics support and then to NAS Moffett Field. In July 1974, he was assigned Aviation and General Safety Officer for that command.

During his career as a naval aviator, he compiled more than 8,000 hours of pilot time in the C-130 Hercules, P-2 Neptune, S-2 Tracker, T-28 Trojan, T-24 Mentor and the SNJ Texan. As Safety Officer, his contributions to the command accident prevention and Safety Program were commendable. Through his sincere desire to provide a safe working environment for others, he established programs in motorcycle safety, toxic gas detection and noise abatement programs.

He distinguished himself by his dedication to the principles of safety and the well being of his fellow workers. He was a member of the Quiet Birdmen, The Retired Officers Association, Sons in Retirement, American Legion Post 593, Disabled American Veterans and was a member of the congregation of Our Lady of Refuge Church in Castroville. He is remembered at the Naval Aviation Museum at NAS Pensacola, Fla. After retirement, Clyde dabbled in real estate, property management and working at a local hardware store. He flew racing pigeons and continued flying single engine aircraft, but nothing ever really matched his love of flying and serving his country.

He is survived by his high school sweetheart and wife of 47 years, Dorothy Beagle; daughter, Michelle; sons, Curtis and Kyle; and granddaughter, Jennifer. Visitation: 1 to 5 p.m. Friday, March 11, at Struve and Laporte Funeral Chapel, 41 W. San Luis Salinas. Rosary: 7 p.m.
