He was born Aug. 7, 1933, in San Antonio and lived in Salinas for 59 years. He retired after 33 years as a forms and publication manager at the Defense Lan- contracting industries. He managed the hall at St. Mary of the Nativity Church for many years. He was a past Catholic Youth Organization president, a coach in Monterey and was one of the original founders of bingo fund-raisers for both Palma and Sacred Heart schools. He was an assistant for 10 years at Healey Mortuary. He enjoyed traveling to Reno and Tahoe with his family, loved to dance and especially enjoyed spending time with the grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his grandson Michael Hernan- LOCAL CALENDAR San Francisco State and the University of Oklahoma. His career as an educator including teaching and coaching high school basketball, baseball and football. He retired in 1979 after spending several years as a principal at an elementary school in Castroville. He was active in the Castroville Kiwanis Club, the Reserve Officer's Association and helped at the VFW post. He also was active in numerous Monterey County educational organizations.

Military: Served in the Marine Corps during World War II and later served in the Army Reserves, retiring in 1979 with the rank of master sergeant. Survivors: Wife of 36 years, Betty SALINAS SALINAS Tommie Quintana Tommie Quintana, 76, of Salinas, died at her home Thursday, Debra Trotter of Big Sur; sons, Morgan Trotter of Mill Valley and Andrew Trotter of Carmel Valley; daughter, Carmen Trotter of Templeton; sisters, Cathy Brockus and Judy Weidman, both of Washington, and Sandra Coombs of Oregon; and one granddaughter. 28, 1928, in New Jersey and lived in Salinas. He was an employee for the United States Postal Service in Salinas for 21 years. Military: Served in the Army for 20 years and Navy for three years.
