She was born June 6, 1905, in San Jacinto. She was a cook for Valley Knotty Pine Restaurant in Imperial Valley and the Cameo Buffet. She enjoyed playing the organ, reading, painting ceramics and going to the Baptist church. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Ray Havens, in 1967, and William Voorting, in 1990; and sons, Gordon P. Havens, in 1995, and John.

She was born May 14, 1931, in Tulsa, and was a lifelong Salinas resident before Betty Jo moving to Springfield 15 Phillips years ago. She was a nursing assistant before retiring. She enjoyed being with her family and grandchildren. Memberships: Oak Grove Assembly of God in Springfield and former member of Pentecostal Church of God in Salinas, the Pink Church. Mr. Thomae served in the Army Air Corp. during WWII as a B-17 pilot. Shortly after the war, Mr. Thomae attended his Alma Mater Ohio State University until coming to the Monterey Peninsula for a golf tournament in the summer of 1952.

He never left. Mr. Thomae was part owner and President of Mortimer's Inc. from 1959-1983 and opened Chet's sports bar and restaurant in 1984 which he operated until his retirement in the year 2000. Mr.

Thomae was a member of the American Legion Post 694, VFW Post 811, the Masonic Lodge 331, the Monterey Bay York Rite Chapter 59, the Marina Civic Association, the CBN 700 Club, and attended Shoreline Church. Mr. Thomae was an avid golfer in his youth and remained a fan of all the major sports throughout his life. Year in and year out, Mr. Thomae loved to spend quality time with his family and grandchildren always making them feel safe and loved.

He passed on the importance of Buckeye football, but more importantly, the value of humbly helping those in need. He is survived by his wife of 50 years Mary Thomae of a sister Roberta (Richard) Hyme of Columbus, Ohio, his 3 sons, Christopher (Ronda) Thomae, Craig Thomae, Brian (Darrilyn) Thomae, all of Marina. Six grandchildren, Christina Thomae, Brittany Thomae, Troy Thomae, all of Marina, Heather (Charlie) Bryant, Matthew Linscheid both of Seattle, Wash and Caitlin Linscheid of Chico, CA and 3 great grandchildren Alexander, Sophi, and Gemma Bryant of Seattle, Wash.
