23, 1913, to Aug. 2, 1997 Happy 89th birthday, Grandpa, It's amazing that five years have now passed. It seems like it was only yesterday that you were nagging at me about my driving as I was taking you to see your favorite doctor, hearing you tell me that my driving was going to Joseph V. cause you to Ruiz have a heart attack before you ever got to your appointment. All I have to do is close my eyes and I envision that moment and hear your voice.

They say that time heals the pain. I have no pain over your death because I know you're at peace and pain-free. However, time has not put a halt to the flowing of my tears when I have my moments of reminiscing over you. I would do anything to hear you nag at me and I would even appreciate it. I guess I will have to wait until we meet again.

You have another new greatgrandson, his name is "Johnny Dale Ruiz, aka, J.D." He is completely adorable from head to toe. We'll make sure that he learns everything there is to learn about you as he grows. Since there has been many family members who have left to join you since your passing, we know that you're having a blast with family during your birthday celebration in heaven. There are not enough words to express how much you are loved and missed. Your No.

Cause of death was not immediately known, but Martinez said Buono suffered from heart problems. There were no signs of trauma, and Buono was alone in his own cell when he died.
