Lee, 75, died Thursday, 1 Nov. SunRidge Care and Rehabilitation in Salinas following a lengthy illness. She was born on July 21, 1926, in Minneapolis, and had lived in Salinas for 48 years. She retired as a nurse from Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital after working for the 1953 to 1987. She also unteer for the Salinas Memorial Hospital League.

She enjoyed gardening and spending Ronald L. Kimmel of Salinas, Ronald L. Kimmel, 73, of Sali15, 2001, at nas, died Thursday, Nov. 15, 2001, at his residence following a lengthy illness. He was born on Dec.

29, 1927, in Sapulpa, and lived in Salinas for 48 years. He was retired from Kaiser Aluminum and SALINAS National Refractories in Salinas. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing Ronald L. Kimmel and hunt- ing. Military: U.S.

Navy during World War II and the Korean War. Memberships: Life member of Monterey County Sheriff's Posse; VFW Post 7895, past member of the American Legion and the Disabled American Veterans. Whitney Harriett E. Whitney, 96, of nas, died Thursday, Nov. 15, at her home following an illness. She was born on Dec. 4, 1904, in Plymouth, England, and lived in Salinas for 51 years.

She was a homemaker and was active in the Red Cross, where she served as a "Grey Lady." She was a talented art student of John Roby and Larry Bell. Memberships: Order of the Eastern Star, El Gabilan Chapter. Screening for prevalent and treatable cancers was low. About 30 percent of women had not received a Pap test within the past year and about 40 percent of ageappropriate women had not received mammograms within the past year. About 87 percent of the men in the labor camp surveyed reported binge drinking, defined by having five or more drinks in one setting; 79 percent reported drinking more than one drink per day. Men were more likely than women to smoke, have high alcohol use, have poorer diets (eat more red meat and fewer fruits and vegetables) and report poorer dietary habits (such as not trimming fat from red meat or removing skin from chicken, using lard or meat fat in cooking). SANTA MARIA Arthur R.

Tognazzini Arthur R. Tognazzini, 92, of Santa Maria, died Thursday, Oct. 18, 2001, at a Santa Maria hospital. He was born in Someo, Switzerland, on Sept. 27, 1909.

He came to the United States in 1928 at the age of 19 to work on his uncle's farm in Guadalupe. In 1958, he took over ownership of his family's ranch, the Sunset Laguna Ranch, and started a dairy. He produced and distributed milk under his own labels of Oso Flaco Dairy, Garden Dairy and Sunset Dairy. He also sold milk to Knudsen and Foremost Dairies for distribution in Los Angeles County. In 1986, he closed his dairy and sold his livestock.
