He was born June 19, 1928, in San Francisco and lived in Monterey County for 63 years. He was a magazine distributor for 33 years. He was a very accomplished musician. He played in the most famous of the bands durir the Big Band era. He also played with local bands on the Monterey Peninsula.

He was known for his love of music and his saxophone playing. He was preceded in death by a son, Claude John Gilroy III, and a sister, Dorothy Clough. She was lovingly attended by her family during her illness. She was born on July 12, 1930 in Ogden, Utah to Spencer Stoddard and Hope Fox Eccles. She graduated from Ogden High School and was a proud member of the "Carpe Diem." She spent her summers at the Fox Family Ranch in LaBarge, Wyoming riding horses bareback and learning about ranch life. Her independent spirit took her to the east coast to earn a BA in psychology from Smith College and she did graduate work at the University of Utah studying child psychology. She later moved to San Francisco where she began a career with United Airlines at the Union Square office.

In 1961, she married Homer Hayward in a beautiful ceremony in her parent's garden in Ogden. Nancy spent the next 4 decades with her loving husband raising her children and later nurturing her grandchildren. She was their best friend, their confidante, their guiding light and the rock they leaned upon. They in turn were her life and joy. Everyone knew when Nancy in with those big, beautiful colorful outfits.

The warmth were contagious. She was the last to linger at any energy she loved organizing family adventure. Whether spend time with the cousins, Valley, our sun worshiping bond that holds our family in that virtue. entered the room. She flowed brown eyes and those bright, you felt from her laugh and smile always the gracious hostess and gathering.
