She was born Dec. 7, 1938, in Compton and was raised in Salinas. She attended RooDolores Marie sevelt Ele(Arias) Perez mentary, Washington Junior High and graduated from Salinas High School, class of 1955, with honors. She worked at Natividad Medical Center for many years in accounting. She also lived in Hayward, San Leandro and Antioch before returning to Salinas in 2001.

She was a Jehovah's Witness and Hall. She attended loved the reading Kingdom Bible, spending friends time with family attending family social events. She had a good sense of humor. She was a generous person and will be missed by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents, J.J.

Arias and Lolo E. Arias; brothers, Joe and David Arias; her husband, Alfred Perez; and her beloved daughter, Mona R. (Perez) Wada. Survivors: Son, Alfred Perez of Salinas; daughters, Corinna Hayward and Valerie Perez of Salinas; grandchildren; Jesse, Jesselle, Alfred Desiree, Gregory, Isaac, Domingo, Delilah, Rosalinda, Delaina, Andrew, Raquel and Michael; seven great-grandchildren; sisters, Rachel (Luis Orozco and Susie (Gregory) Gomez, both of Salinas; brothers, Eddie (Sophie) Arias, Manuel (Mercy) Arias, Henry (Jennie) Arias and Louie (Donna) Arias, all of Salinas, and Alfred (Petra) Arias of Compton; and numerous nieces and nephews. David Paul Higuera David Paul Higuera, 66, of Port Pierce, died Saturday, April 30, 2005, in Port St. Lucie, Fla. Mr.

Higuera was born in Salinas and moved to Fort Pierce in 2000, coming from Lawton, Okla. He was a truck driver, music instructor and pianist. Survivors: His children, Brian, Suzie and Kinney Higuera, all of Lawton, brothers, Richard Higuera of Washington, Utah, Lawrence Higuera of Washington and James Higuera of Salinas; and his companion, Sue Netro of Fort Pierce. Co-founder of Greenpeace, Bob Hunter, dies of cancer The Associated Press TORONTO Canadian Bob Hunter, who co-founded the environmental group Greenpeace, died Monday after a battle with prostate cancer, the organization said.

He was 63. Hunter, a columnist for the Vancouver Sun in the 1960s, used his savvy as a journalist to turn the environmental group's fight into an international cause. Most recently an ecology broadcaster for Canadian media, Hunter first came to prominence in 1971 with the launch of Greenpeace and its protests against nuclear testing. He brought public attention to the hunting of whales and seals, as well as the dumping of toxic waste into the oceans. Hunter helped establish the in-your-face communication style that became a Greenpeace trademark.

Eric was Eric E. Sonniksen, 60, of King City, died peacefully Sunday, May 1, Eric E. Sonniksen born Aug. 28, 1944, in Gilroy to Andy and Alta Sonniksen. At an early age he moved with his family to King City, where he lived the remainder of his life.

He attended King City Grammar School and graduated from King City High School in 1962. A year later, he joined the U.S. Air Force where he served for four years. He was stationed in Germany, Spain and the East Coast. Upon returning to King City, he began working at Basic Vegetable Products, where he was a mill supervisor and retired after 32 years.

He was well-respected and known as "Onion Mill Eric" to his many friends at Basic. Eric was a loyal friend to many. He was a lifetime member of the N.R.A., a volunteer firefighter with the King City Fire Department; a member of the Monterey County sportsmen's Association, a member of Alcoholics Anonymous, and a staunch Republican. He was an avid hunter, fireman, and backpacker. His love for the outdoors was second only to the love he had for his wife and family. Eric is survived by the love of his wife, Ruth Anne (Hernandez). On April 12 they celebrated their 36th wedding anniversary. He is also survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Rebbecca Sonniksen of Atascadero; his daughter and son-in-law, Melissa and Jason Armer of King City; his loyal "wiener" dogs, Rosie and Tugg; mother, Alta Sonniksen of San Martin; brother, Larry Sonniksen of Hollister; sister and brother-in-law, Kathy and Chuck Moore of San Martin; his Aunt Zona Olds of King City; and numerous nieces, nephews and greatnieces and nephews. His father, Andy Sonniksen; his grandparents, Earl and Elma Olds; and his uncle, Clarke Olds, preceded him in death.

Memorial services: 11 a.m. Friday, May 6, at St. John's McHugh Hall. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, in Eric's name to The Visiting Nurse Association, Hospice, The American Cancer Society or the charity of your choice. Arrangements: Kuehl-Nicolay Funeral Home, Paso Robles.

Shaw, classical music often-quoted study that showed listening to Mozart raises a person's IQ, has died of kidney cancer. He was 72. Shaw, who died Tuesday at his home, gained national Dear Rick It's been a whole year since you were taken out of my life and our sons' lives. I miss you so much, and the boys miss you, too.
