In 1992, Enewold started knitting a sweater. She wanted some sterling silver buttons to complete it so she signed up for a jewelry and metal arts class at Monterey Peninsula College. "I got hooked," Enewold said.

"I never finished the sweater." In the beginning, she worked at her kitchen table. "I started with a saw and some files," Enewold said. "That was alL" Her home studio in Prunedale is now overflowing with jeweler's tools, work benches, coils of sterling silver, sheets of copper, beads, shells and myriad jewelry items in various stages of completioa There are earrings fashioned from 1930s typewriter keys, whimsical angels with curly bellybuttons and smiling cats with fishbone chains. "I like to get out and talk to people." Retired after 26 years with Enewold met her husband, Bill Pennycook, while installing a phone at a home where Pennycook was the general contractor. Upon seeing Enewold, Pennycook commented, "I love a woman in a tool belt." The couple married in May 2003. Enewold serves as secretary for the Monterey Bay Metal Arts Guild. "One of these reasons I like doing this is that it makes people happy," Enewold said.
