www.OnlineFlowers.com. SUN. 1111 1 VETERANS-DAY EARLY BIRD DINNER, American Legion Post 589, Jeff Norman Jeff Norman, 56, of Big Sur, died Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2007, from complications following his recent heart surgery. He was born Sept.

19, 1951, in Oakland, and moved to Monterey County in 1962 with his family. He graduated from Pacific Grove High School in 1969 and attended UCSC. As a consulting biologist, cultural historian, and author, he was fiercely protective of the biological habitats and the social culture unique to Big Sur. He was an expert botanist, working for the U.S. Forest Service, U.C.

Santa Cruz, and numerous other projects. He was a friend and chronicler of the larger than life characters of Big Sur, including homesteader families, artists, conservationists, ranchers, and just plain folk. In 2004, Jeff Images of America: Big Sur with the Big Sur Historical Society, tracing the history of the coast from the days of the homestead- Douglas Roddick Douglas (J. Roddick, 90, of Piescott, Arizona, passed away on Monday, Nov. 5, 2007.
