March 28, 2007 Californian SOLEDAD SALINAS Salvador Frias Salvador Frias, died Sunday, California Salvador Frias Bertha D. 81, of Salinas, Bertha D. March 25, 2007, at Soledad, died Pacific Medical 25, 2007, at her Center in San Francisco. He was born July 12, 1925, in Cortazar, Guanajuato, Mexi'co He worked 'in agriculture as a field worker for 20 years. Salvador was a hard worker and enjoyed having coffee with his friends.

He loved his children and grandchildren and enjoyed taking care of them. Survivors: Companion, Maria Corrales of the family home; daughter, Ruth (Carlos) Frias Espinoza of Salinas; two sons, Jose Esteban Frias and Jose Martin Frias, both of Salinas; and grandson, Carlos Julio, Espinoza. Visitation: 1 to 9 p.m., today, March 28, 2007, at Healey Mortuary. Rosary: 4 p.m. today, March 28, 2007, at the Healey Mortuary Chapel.

Aragon Leonard Bloom Aragon, 96, of Leonard Bloom, 90, passed Sunday, March away peacefully at his home home. He married Bette Sayller in 1940 who preceded him in death in 1998. Leonard was an active member of his church and Meals on Wheels. During retirement, he enjoyed his family and friends, around which he had always based his life. SALINAS Eleuteria A. Dolera Eleuteria Salinas, fully at Eleuteria A. Dolera A. Dolera 87, of passed away peacehome on Friday, March 23, 2007, with family by her side. She was born in Tubigon, Bohol, in the Philippine Islands, on Oct.

3, 1919. Eleuteria was a teacher before she arrived to the United States in 1948, with her husband, Narciso Dolera, and they settled in the Salinas area. During her working years, she was employed at Higashi Farms, and John Inglis Frozen Foods. Throughout her life, her family took priority, and she, along with her husband, were integral support for many of her family members in migrating to the United States. Eleuteria was very involved with the Filipino community.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Narciso Dolera in 1993. Memberships: Eleuteria was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Survivors: Sons, Richard (Sharon) Dolera and Elmer Dolera; granddaughters, Alison, Andrea and Aubrey; niece, Lillian Lutz; brothers, Aning Apsay of Los Angeles, Sano Apsay of San Jose and Severino Apsay of Fresno; along with many other loving nieces and nephews Visitation: 1 to 9 p.m., Friday, March 30, Healey Mortuary, 405 N. 93905. Henson Cargill dies The Associated Press OKLAHOMA CITY Singer Henson Cargill, whose 1968 hit "Skip a Rope" topped the country charts with its understated take on social problems, has died. He was 66. Cargill died Saturday following complications from surgery, Matthews Funeral Home in Edmond confirmed. "Skip a Rope" made it to No.

1 on the Billboard country chart and was a top 25 crossover success in the pop music chart. The verses refer to marital discord, tax cheating and racial prejudice. Helen Louise Jordan Helen Louise Jordan, 80, of Woodland, died Monday, March 26, 2007, at Palm Gardens Assisted Living Center Woodland. She was born in San Francisco on Oct. 4, 1926, to Leslie and Thelma (White) Pierce.

The family lived in Salinas, where she attended local area schools and was a graduate of Salinas High, class of 1944. Mrs. Jordan was employed by the Salinas Unified School District as an attendance clerk at North High School, followed by what is now known as World Savings as a switchboard operator. Memberships: A lifetime resident of Salinas, she was a member of the Native Daughters of the Golden West, active in American Legion Post No. 31 and a longtime member of St.

George's Episcopal Church in Salinas, prior to moving to Yolo County. Survivors: She is survived by her daughter, Heidi Moore; and husband, Jimmy, of Salinas; sons, Mark Tombleson and wife, Anita, of Dunnigan; and Timothy Tombleson and wife, Judy, of Lakewood; grandchildren, Nicole Tombleson of Long Beach, Drew Tombleson of Woodland, Aaron Tombleson of Washington, D.C., Alan Tombleson of Little Rock, Ark; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her husbands, George William Tombleson III and Henry Jordan; daughter, Joy Tombleson; as well as her sisters, Barbara Keane and Marion DeCew. WATSONVILLE Ray Belgard Ray Belgard, 76, of Watsonville, passed away Thursday, March 1, 2007, in Watsonville.

He was born July 10, 1930, in Bonita, La. After serving with the Salinas Police Department, he became an investigator for the Monterey County District Attorney's office. He later served as chief investigator in the Santa Cruz County District Attorney's Office. He later was Watsonville's chief of police, followed by two terms on the Santa Cruz County Board of Supervisors. Survivors: Son, Roger (Debbie) Belgard of Miwuk Village; daughter, Jody (Tim) Akimoto of Watsonville; brothers, Bob (Janet) Belgard of Watsonville and Dave (Barbara) Belgard of Roseville; and grandchild, Blake Cross of Garden Valley.

SEASIDE Jazziel Josiah Gomez Jazziel Josiah Gomez, 7 months, of Seaside, died Sunday, March 25, 2007, at Lucille Packard Children's Hospital in Palo Alto, after a short illness. She was a devout Catholic who enjoyed attending church, praying the rosary and reading the Bible. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with all her family preparing her delicious flour tortillas. The highlight of her life was becoming a U.S. citizen on July 3, 1997. Mama will be deeply missed by all her family who were extremely blessed to share in all the love, laughter and affection she had to give.

She was born Oct. 15, 1941, in King City, to Madeline Louise Purdy and Harold Robert Reid. She graduated from Salinas Union High School in 1959.

She married Dennis Lindow in 1967 in San Jose. Barbara and Dennis had two beautiful sons, Jason Reid and Jonathan Frederick. Barbara succumbed to breast cancer after three years and passed away in her sleep, surrounded by her family in Sacramento. Barbara was a terrific mom and homemaker for many years and later a legal secretary, mainly for Bolling, Walter and Gawthrop. Memberships: She was actively involved in the Sacramento Legal Secretaries Association, the Red Hat Society and Susan G.

Komen Breast Cancer Support Groups. Survivors: Husband; Dennis; two sons, Jason and Jonathan; sister, Joan Reid; granddaughter, Hayley Susanne; and grandson, Noah Alexander. Barbara also is leaving some very close friends and acquaintances who will miss her greatly. Celebration of life: Please join us for a gathering at her home. Ann was born to Steve and Maria Moranda, on Oct. 18, 1913. They were immigrants from Switzerland, who came to America in 1909. While raising her family, Ann worked part time for Porter Irvine, Carmen's Gift China and Ford's Department Store, until her retirement in 1990. Survivors: Ann is survived by her loving husband, Dominic; daughters, Kathleen (Russell Yoshimaru), Patricia (Stephen Jensen) of Salinas; grandchildren, Ross (Sara) Jensen, Marie (Anthony Vasquez), Quinn Jensen and Steen Jensen; her sisters, Irma O'Grady and Evelyn Wilson.

She also leaves numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, Steve and Maria Moranda, sister, Josie Braga, brother, Henry Moranda and nephew Stephen Waters. Ann enjoyed gardening, cooking and spending time with her family. She was a member of Wisteria and Young Ladies Institute. A special thank you to her caregivers, Delia, Delmi, Alai and Sune.
