Romine Are WedIn Afternoon Rites Young Salinas Residents United In Ceremony Solemnized Here; Reception Follows IN the presence of a large number of relatives and friends, Miss Elizabeth Mehringer and Mr. Ralph L. Romine of Salinas were united in marriage at noon Sunday in the John Street Tabernacle, with the Rev. Arthur Adams officiating. Pink sweetpeas and roses adorned the church, with the bridal party standing beneath a blossom covered arch, from which hung white wedding bells.

Mrs. Morris Snoiv Entertains For Detroit Resident Entertaining in compliment to her cousin, Mrs. Mn Hyman Detroit, Michigan, Mrs. Morris Snow was hostess to a coterie of friends Saturday afternoon, when she gave a luncheon party in the pastel room of the Hotel Cominos. Mrs.

Hyman has been a house guest at the Snow home for several days. Pastel shaded gladioli carried out a lovely decorative motif at the tables, where the guests were seated for a 1 oclock luncheon. Bridge games were enjoyed for remainder of the afternoon, with high score awards going to Mrs. Joseph B. Felman and Mrs.

Many relatives and friends visited at the Lacey home during the reception to extend congratulations to the honored couple upon their golden wedding anniversary. Reports will be presented of the Continental Congress in Washington, D. by Mrs. Standiford, wtu attended as a delegation from the peninsula chapter. Mr. Romine is the son of Mrs. Pearl Wright of Longdale, Oklahoma, and he attended schools in that state. For some time he ha.r made his home in Salinas, where he is employed with the Firestone Service store. Thomas John Lister of Watsonville were united in marriage Saturday morning at a simple ceremony solemnized at 10:30 oclock in the Arlington hotel of Carson City, Nevada. Immediately following the ceremony the newlyweds left on a honeymoon trip that will take them to Mexico and to Boulder Dam. For her wedding the bride wore a graduate courses In banking. During his school years and following he has been prominent In sports. For some time he has been employed In the Pajaro Valley National bank of Watsonville.

On their return from their wedding trip, Mr. and Mrs. Lister will reside at 17 Roosevelt street, beautifully designed frock of baby blue chiffon net, with a corsage of orchids bordering the squared neck. White gloves and slippers, and a white shoulder length veil, held in place by an orchid, completed her ensemble. Her only ornament was a strand of pearls, the gift of the bridegroom.

Outing Is Planned By Baptist Groups With an ail-day outing planned, members of the First Baptist church of this city will be entertained Tuesday at the country home of Mr. and Mrs. F. C. Carl-sen in the Prunedale district.

Groups will leave from the church at 10:30 oclock, and transportation facilities may be arranged by communicating with Dr. C. Trawln, telephone 2227. There will be devotionals during the morning, followed by a luncheon at noon, with coffee to be served by Mrs. Clarence Ellis and Mrs.

Harvey H. Twyman of Medford, Oregon, former residents of Watsonville. She graduated from the Watsonville Union high school, and she received her B. A. degree from San Jose State College in 1932.

The following summers she worked on her M. A. degree at the University of California, and she also visited In the Hawaiian Islands and toured the United States and Europe. She taught at the Pajaro school In Watsonville In 1933, and the following two years at Alisal Union school. For the last three years she has been primary art instructor at the Roosevelt school In Salinas, and since the close of classes this semester she has been visiting with her brother and sister-in-law, Mr.
